In this guide, I’ll share some of the most beautiful swimming spots in the Blue Mountains, along with handy tips to help you make the most of your visit. And if you’re planning a longer stay, we invite you to relax in style at Glen Isla, our luxury guesthouse in Wentworth Falls.
Tucked inside Blue Mountains National Park near the Glenbrook entrance, Jellybean Pool is a family-friendly spot with calm, shallow water, sandy edges, and a gorgeous bush setting. It’s one of the most popular natural swimming holes in the Blue Mountains, and for good reason.
Tip: Arrive early in summer months as it gets busy. National Park entry fees apply.

Just a short drive from Katoomba, this picture-perfect swimming spot features a waterfall cascading into a deep, clear rock pool surrounded by cliffs and lush greenery. The 20-minute walk down is moderately steep but well worth it.
Tip: Wear sturdy shoes and bring plenty of water. Great for confident swimmers and adventurous couples.
Perfect for a gentle swim, picnic, or paddle with the kids. While not a secluded swimming hole, the lake offers calm, shallow areas ideal for cooling off with a view.
Tip: It’s just minutes from Glen Isla, so you can pop down in the evening for a sunset swim or stroll.
Another gem within Glenbrook’s precinct of the National Park, Blue Pool offers a larger swimming area than Jellybean, surrounded by sandstone rock formations. It’s quieter and less visited, making it a more peaceful option.
Tip: There are no amenities here, so pack light and bring everything you need.
If you’re up for a scenic adventure, the walk down to Victoria Falls is a bit of a hike but rewards you with a tranquil pool at the base of the falls. It’s less touristy and beautifully secluded. It has an impressive waterfall you can walk behind.
Tip: The descent is a steep 2km track and not recommended during or after heavy rain. Bring snacks, swimwear, and a camera—you’ll want to savour it.
