With three bathrooms, a large living room, wraparound verandah and half an acre of private gardens, Glen Isla is a wonderful place for extended families and groups of friends to stay together and enjoy the Blue Mountains.

Originally built as a letting house for Sydney visitors escaping to the fresh mountain air, Glen Isla has been welcoming guests for more than 140 years. We’ve been proudly continuing that tradition since 2013.

Blue Mountains Group Accommodation for Up to 12 Guests

Finding one Blue Mountains holiday house where a larger family or group can all stay together isn’t always easy.

Glen Isla sleeps up to 12 guests across six bedrooms, making it ideal for extended-family holidays, multi-generational stays, weekends with friends and special celebrations.

Five bedrooms have queen beds, while the spacious loft has four single beds. Three bedrooms open through French doors onto the traditional wraparound verandah.

Walk to the Blue Mountains National Park

One of Glen Isla’s best features is its location.

It’s a short, flat five-minute walk from the house to the start of some of the best hikes in the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains National Park.

Leave the car behind and within minutes you can be surrounded by waterfalls, spectacular escarpments and native bushland.

Wentworth Falls, Leura and Katoomba are also within easy reach, along with the Three Sisters, Echo Point and Scenic World.

Half an Acre of Historic Gardens

Glen Isla is surrounded by half an acre of established private gardens and lawns.

Some of the trees and garden specimens date back to the property’s beginnings in 1885, giving the gardens a character and maturity that are very much part of the Glen Isla experience.

Enjoy morning coffee on the verandah, a long lunch outdoors, a BBQ with friends or simply some quiet time in the fresh Mountain air.

Younger guests can enjoy the full garden cubby house with its own slide, and cots and highchairs are available for families travelling with little ones.
